A Nutrition Therapist like myself has the knowledge of nutrition and food combined with the expertise of Eating Disorders. The language of food is very revealing when one is able to decode it.
As a Nutrition Therapist, I have the ability to help facilitate behavioral changes with food through the decoding process. I am able to assess a patient’s nutritional status and help him or her work towards goals and objectives that bridge the gap between knowledge and behaviors.
It is with great success that I have given patients the tools and strategies to continue living without eating disorder behaviors and to change their relationship with food favorably.
The intense negativity that people with eating disorders have over food is overrated. The work between the solution and changing their bodies is what I am able to address and make gradual changes towards their recovery process.
